Good Afternoon First Grade Families,
This will be our last update of the blog but I will add any additional pictures at the end of next week. I want to start by saying I have loved living and learning with your children this year. Thank you for entrusting me with their growth. I’ve seen them have those aha moments, get excited about our learning, and celebrate with each unique gathering. They hold a special part of my heart as my first CFI children. I am excited to see them grow each year and blossom into the potential I see in them. Thank you again for your support and here is our last recap of our week and any information for the end of the year.
This week we saw some amazing expert projects both in the research done at home and in the in class writing samples. We finished sharing these on Thursday and had our school share fair that same day. I know other teachers expressed to me how great they were, and I am very proud of all the work that went into them. Thank you for your help at home! Here are pictures of each child with their project. Videos will be sent home starting today.

This week we focused on water culminating with splash day. We started by looking at how water changes rocks through processes such as erosion, the formation of sedimentary rocks, and the separation of layers in bodies of water such as lakes and rivers. We also discussed fresh and saltwater and why when we have so much water on earth, so little of it is drinkable. We will continue this in our last few days. We also explored the properties of water and experimented to see these in action such as how water takes the shape of its container and flows downhill.
I will be sending home artwork, expert projects, and writing each day so please empty these items each day as there are many things to go home these last few days. That’s all but thank you again for all the support I received this year and thank you for sharing your kids with me!
